EMT training in Pensacola FL has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life so far. The start of this journey was somewhat through happenstance, and actually revolves around a little brush with death. Nothing too glamorous really, but late one night while I was driving home through a pretty heavy rain storm, I lost control of my car and ended up careening into a ditch after hitting the center median and spinning out.
The car I was driving was pretty solid thankfully, with a great safety score when I was researching it up to purchase, but after that kind of crash, it rolled at least three times down the hill before coming to a rest on its side. Needless to say, I was in pretty rough shape after that, and woke up to a strange hanging sensation while lights were being shined on my face and in my eyes.
I only realized what had happened when the paramedic on duty was gently asking me questions about how I felt and what I could move. She helped me down from my handing position and she and another EMT got me onto a stretcher in the pouring rain and got me to the hospital in the nick of time.
Later on, I learned that if the paramedics had not been well trained, the precarious position of my body may have actually caused further injury upon rescue which would have been the end of me. So I came to understand that these amazing people were able to save my life because they truly knew what they were doing inside and out.
From that point on, I knew I wanted to do the same, and was able to enroll in an EMT training program out of Pensacola FL shortly after I was fully recovered.
